A unique coastal venue in the heart of Hastings. Bunka sits on the 4th and 5th floors of the historic Observer Building, home to the Hastings & St Leonards Observer from 1924 to 1984 and rescued by Hastings Commons in 2018. From weddings to team away days, corporate meetings and parties, our experienced team will make sure your event runs perfectly, with views across the old town and out to sea.

Festive Set Menu

Celebrate the season at Bunka with our festive set menu served in our cosy rooftop restaurant overlooking Hastings.

Available Friday to Sunday throughout December. Ideal for catching up with friends, family get-togethers and work Christmas parties.

OUR SPACES

Open-air Rooftop: up to 200 guests, April to September

Tower Room: 40 seated, 60 standing, with sea views

Bar: 30 seated, 40 standing

From October to March, the Tower Room and Bar together hold 70 seated or 100 standing.

WEDDINGS

Say "I do" above the rooftops of Hastings. We host both ceremonies and receptions, so you and your guests can stay in one place from the vows to the last dance. Our wedding menus are generous sharing feasts served to the tables in stages, from £60 per person:

- Garden Menu: malted sourdough, burrata, 7-spice roast chicken, crab and crayfish rolls, Eton mess

- Bunka-style Menu: our signature Asian-inspired flavours, from Sai ua Northern Thai sausage to cod baked in banana leaf with yellow curry

Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas parties and summer gatherings, with canapés, sharing menus or bespoke catering and a fully licensed bar.

Day delegate catering for meetings, training days and team away days: coffee and tea from £4, breakfast from £6, lunch sandwiches from £12 per person. Complimentary Wi-Fi and full AV and lighting support.

GETTING HERE

A 5-minute walk from Hastings station, with direct trains from London Victoria, London Bridge and Charing Cross. The nearest car park is Priory Street multi-storey, and on-street parking nearby is free after 6pm.
